Itinerary (Not the way it turned out)
Days 1/2 Amsterdam Netherlands
Meet your Top Deck tour leader and fellow travellers in London. Cross the Channel to France, then take a scenic drive through Belgium and on to Amsterdam. See historic Dam Square, the National Monument, and memorable Anne Frank's House on our highlights tour. Discover the artistic treasures in the Rijks and Van Gogh museums. See cheese and clog making demonstrations, and of course windmills. At night you can visit Amsterdam's infamous Red Light District.
Day 3 Rhine Valley Germany
The tranquil German town of St. Goar on the romantic Rhine River, is our next destination. Cruise along the mighty Rhine and see the famous medieval castles along on the hilltops. Learn how beersteins are made and visit a traditional cuckoo clock shop, two local specialities.
Days 4/5 Prague Czech Republic
Prague the enchanting city of a thousand spires, is our next stop. Discover the majestic Hradcany Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square with the Tyne Church, and Wenceslas Square. You'll be spoilt with the choice of cultural shows, great cuisine and shopping - from bohemian crystal to handmade puppets.
Days 6/7 Vienna Austria
Now we head to musical Vienna, the capital of Austria. See the Opera House, St. Stephens Cathedral and the Spanish Riding School (if available). Visit the Hofburg and Schonbrunn palaces and even a Schnapps museum. At night why not try some hair-raising rides at the famous Prater Amusement Park.
Days 8/9 Munich Germany
We travel to the Bavarian capital of Munich. Join our highlights tour to see the Old Town Hall, Church of Our Lady and the famous Glockenspiel in the Marienplatz. In your free time visit the famous Deutches Museum or stroll around the beautiful Englischer Gardens. A visit to Dachau memorial camp is a very moving experience. In the evening why not visit one of the famous Bavarian Beerhalls. Prost!
Days 10/11 Kirchberg (via Salzburg) Austria
Today we head to the beautiful Tyrol region of Austria. En route we visit stunning Salzburg, home of Mozart and the Sound of Music. Our journey continues through picturesque alpine scenery to Kirchberg. You'll stay in our exclusive 400-year-old chalet, Club Habitat. On your free day explore the hills by mountain bike; try white water rafting, glacial skiing or snowboarding, or perhaps even para-gliding. The choice is yours.
Days 12/13 Venice Italy
Time to explore the unique and beautiful city of Venice. Our highlights tour takes in the famous Rialto Bridge, St. Mark's Basilica, Doges Palace and the Bridge of Sighs. See traditional Venetian craftspeople at work - glass blowing and lace making or you can wander through the narrow streets and browse around the local boutiques. Why not cruise the canals in a gondola? Well, you are in Venice!
Days 14/15/16 Rome Italy/Vatican City
The capital of Italy is the eternal city of Rome. You can visit St. Peter's Basilica, Circus Maximus and the Colosseum. Our highlights tour takes you past the famous Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, the Church of the Cappuchin Monks, the ancient Roman Forum and the magnificent Trevi Fountain (throw a coin over your shoulder to ensure you will return to Rome). You can discover some of the world's finest artworks on an excursion to the Vatican museum and see the inspirational Sistine Chapel.
Days 17/18/19/20/21/22 Corfu Greece
On to Brindisi for the overnight ferry to the island of Corfu. After instructions from the flotilla leader we set sail on the Ionian Sea for 4 fantastic days. You'll join in crewing the yacht and of course have time to swim and sunbathe. During your free time in Ipsos why not try para-sailing, water-skiing or just relax on the beach. Catch the overnight ferry back to Brindisi on day 22.
Days 23/24 Sorrento Italy
Back into Italy and we head for the Bay of Naples stopping at Pompeii for an optional tour through this ancient buried city. On to our hillside campsite in beautiful Sorrento. Enjoy an optional day trip to the Isle of Capri to see the famous Blue Grotto or just relax in this typical Italian seaside resort.
Days 25/26 Florence Italy
Florence, capital of the Tuscany region and famous for its renaissance art and dramatic buildings awaits. See the Ponte Vecchio, Santa Croce Church, the Duomo Cathedral and the Uffizi Gallery on our highlights tour, plus visit a traditional Florentine gold and silver shop and see a leather demonstration. Lots of leisure time to discover Michelangelo's David, or explore the famous markets.
Day 27 Riviera France/Monaco
We travel via Pisa stopping for a look at the Leaning Tower, to the glamorous French Riviera and its famous beaches. Visit a French perfumery before heading on to Monaco where the gambling tables of Monte Carlo await you, so wear your lucky charms tonight!
Day 28 Avignon France
Today we enter the enchanting old walled city of Avignon on the banks of the Rhone River. Take a walk past the famous Palace of the Popes and the Pont St. Benezet before checking out the traditional French nightlife in town later.
Days 29/30 Lauterbrunnen Switzerland
Time to relax and enjoy the changing scenery on the way to the glacial valley of Lauterbrunnen nestled in the heart of the Alps. Take an optional trip up the awesome snow covered, 4000m Jungfrau to marvel at the breathtaking high alpine scenery. Visit the famous cascade-in-a-mountain Trummelbach Falls, or simply savour the views on a refreshing mountain walk. It's your choice.
Days 31/32/33 Paris France
Our final stop is beautiful Paris. See the Place de la Concorde, Champs Elysees, Eiffel Tower, Hotel d'Invalides, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre and much more on the city highlights tour. Why not sample the French cuisine in the Latin Quarter before a nightlight tour of this fabulous city, including Montmartre and Sacre Coeur, or an optional River Seine cruise. C'est magnifique!
Day 34 London England
Our adventure ends with a drive through the French countryside to the port of Calais. Cross the Channel to the white cliffs of Dover, arriving back in London in the early evening and bid a fond farewell to your new found friends.
